Made on the same day as the previous image, it is its chromatic counterpoint: here, red is the entire subject, a single hue taking over the room. Its strength lies in a subtle shift — Matisse painted his own studio, a place of absolute intimacy; Luiza photographs a borrowed room and the signs through which, for a few days, we make a space that is not ours our own. The same all-encompassing red, now holding the trace of a presence that does not belong there.
“It’s interesting how you transform a completely alien décor: you add a few things of your own, even if it’s just a computer on the table, a glass.”
