"These series bring together images that, although taken over several decades, consistently speak to the same themes. The idea of organizing my images into series came only recently. Some photographs were made specifically with these series in mind, but as I revisited my archive, I was surprised by how persistently certain themes have resurfaced over time — themes I wasn’t consciously thinking about when I took the photographs, but that were already there."
